Austin is a 9 year old gokart racer from Terre Haute, Indiana. Austin's love for the track is in his blood. He comes from a long line of racers and race lovers. His grandfather, Bill, grew up racing sprint cars, modified, dirt bikes, and go karts. Austin and his grandfather, Grant, share a love of all things motorsports.
Austin's mother grew up around racing and has a deep passion for all kinds of motorsports. Austin's father has been a huge fan of racing and has a great competitive spirit. Austin has received his mother's quick thinking and responsiveness on the track and his father's competitiveness and perseverance.
Ever since Austin could talk, he has talked about being a racecar driver when he grows up.This dream has stayed with him and he finally got his first gokart in July 2014. From the first moment he was on the track, his love for racing has only intensified!! He maintains excellent grades in school so he can go to the track to race and see his racing friends as often as possible!!!
Since Austin's first race in late August 2014, he has placed third in four races, second in one race, and first in one race. Many of these races were against drivers who had much more experience both on the track that they were racing on and in the kart in general. At his first ever Great Lakes Sprint Series event, he placed 6th and 7th against drivers that had been competing against each other since April 2014. He was also the 2014 Tony Stewart Junior Racing League Champion runner-up! In the 2015 season, he again excelled in the Kid Kart Class finishing the national and regional series in 8th place. In 2016, Austin was the Daytona KartWeek Kid Kart Champion, the TopKart USA Grand Nationals Champion, and finished 2nd in the national and regional series in his class!!!
Austin is already looking forward to his 2017 season and can't wait to get behind the wheel again!!! He will be competing in Mini-Swift and Yamaha classes in the following series: WKA Manufacturer's Cup, Route 66 Sprint Series, Tony Stewart Junior Racing League, and the Kart Racers of America series.
